Here’s a fun fact for you: candy floss, also known as cotton candy, was actually invented by a dentist!
In 1897, an unlikely duo of a Nashville dentist named William Morrison and confectioner John C. Wharton teamed up to design and patent what they went on to call an electric candy machine.
Then in 1904, William Morrison showcased the world’s first cotton candy machine at the World’s Fair in St. Louis.
Candy Floss is known by many names!
All over the world, there are different names for Candy floss.
In in the United States it is known as "cotton candy", in France as "daddy’s beard", in Australia and Finland, it’s "Fairy Floss", Italians call it “Zucchero filato” which translates to “sugar thread.” It really is a world wide treat enjoyed by millions!
